Hi
Ich habe 2 mal GTA auf meinem PC.
Beide hatten die selben Dateien.
Die gta3.img war bei beiden 1,7GB groß. (noch ohne SRT3 und Oblivion)
Dann habe ich in der einen gta3.img den Oblivion-Mod installiert dazu musste ich 44 Dateien in der gta3.img ersetzen.
Hab ich gemacht (alles richtig gemacht zu 100% sicher)
Da funktionierte noch alles doch dann hab ich den SRT3 Mod installiert und
am Ende der SRT3 Installation rebuildet er die gta3.img und da kam schon der erste Fehler (Erreur E/S 131)

= gta3.img im A***h

Hab dann noch mal alles gemacht aber diesmal umgekehrt habe zuerst den SRT3 Mod und dann Oblivion installiert aber als ich dann rebuilden wollte kam ein Error und ich konnte auch keine neuen Dateien in der gta3.img adden (I/O Error)

Ich dachte es liegt am IMG Editor also hab ich das alles mit 3 verschiedenen IMG Editoren versucht aber hat nichts gebracht.
Bei den anderen IMG Editoren kamen auch Errors.

Ich vermute dass es an der größe der gta3.img liegt.(2,1 - 2,2GB)

After so many years of using the programs for IMG and making Srt3 importing the file to test how the texture are looking in the game, I manage to understand that after 2,00 - 2,22GB in gta3.img, you can't rebuild the IMG again. Somehow this is the limit of the game-IMG.

Still you can just import the stuff and save the image without rebuilding the IMG. Even that this is not good somehow, to me I get some crashes after some good hours of playing.

So till 2GB -> 2,22GB you can rebuild the IMG many times you want till you reach this limit.

If you using Srt3 Mod and because is a big mod, you have chances to rebuild the IMG ONLY 3 times, before you get those error messages.

So first I install the cars, bikes, boats, planes, weapons, peds, misc and rebuild the arhive. The second rebuild arhive it will be for Srt3 Continue cuz, Srt3 ParoXum is rebuilding the arhive by him self, and the 3th one and the last I'm using Project Oblivion. Then when I want to add something new, I get another new gta3.img and do again everything how I have said above.

Second, what IMG program to do use ?

The problem is solved
I installed the SRT3 mod first and than the oblivion mod ( I didn´t rebuild the gta3.img)
I used Alcis Img Editor
Now it works yahoo

Yes. Alci's IMG is a great tool

IMG Tool V2.0 is old and doing nothing much; has 5 years old

Don't USE G-IMG, cuz is doing somehow a nice rebuilding arhive, but it doesn't add files in gta3.img like in this example:

Sultan has 3 paintjobs and I have an Mazda Rx-8 with 4 paintjob. G-IMG doesn't add the last/4th paintjob and Project Oblivion has some extra files that you can't find it in gta3.img and those are who's making that great mod to be. So you can expect from G-IMG with some big surprises and get some wired textures in the game or maybe game-crash. So is not a good tool.

Ab 2GB geht bei mir nichts mehr

gta3.img size:
2.106.632 GB (2.157.191.168 Bytes)

Until this size my gta3.img worked fine but today I wanted to replace a car with Spark and got this error:


When I ignore the error in some cases the car works fine but in some cases the game chrashes though when I spawn the car.

(With the IMG Tool 2.0 there is of course the I/O Error because the file is bigger than 2GB.
With Alcis Img Editor I can replace files without problems but the game crashes while rebuilding.
With the Crazy Img Editor I can replace files and rebuild without problems but what annoys me is that the Tool always changes the ordner of my files to alphabetical order.)

Does annyone know something about this Spark Error?

Nimm Alcis Img Tool und rebuilde nicht, sondern klicke einfach auf Save:

Ab 2GB gibt es immer gewisse Probleme mit dem rebuilden victory

About that, is not from Srt3. Because IMG Alci's Tool is getting old. Does problems are from the limit that Alci's can give. The textures are still in the files, but after extracting them with Alci's, he doesn't let you anymore to see them. I using now the new brand IMG Manager that from my part of view is the most powerfull and strongest IMG I've seen til now, making a great REBUILD ARHIVE without getting any error, showing the speed of how your PC is runing on this process, showing how many files you changed and many many other good features that it has and yeah, the rebuild arhive take only some seconds in stead of minutes. If you gona use this new IMG Manager you will lose that problem, extracting the files with this new IMG Tool will make the files to be seen again and many, many other old problems that we haved pasted this years will be solved with this Tool. yahoo

I don't use Alci's anymore. And if you guys will start using this tool, for chaning the files you the Bulk Replace, cuz if you will use the Import, you will have to sets of the same files in your gta3.img e.g. 4 files ( 2 uranus.dff and 2.uranustxd of the same files it will crash your game, from this part you need to delete manualy the old ones and let the new ones in gta3.img )

Yeah, after replacing using this great tool, you can go on like this till you reached the maxim limit ( 4094MB ). You can import, export, do what you wish you want to do with gta3.img, playing with him like toy .svenn

The game runs like a charm to me now ^^

For me it took 10:28 min to rebuild my gta3.img... (file size 2106 MB)

Rebuilding a 1967 MB gta3.img with IMG Tool 2.0 takes only 3:04 min
(wtih Alcis about the same time)
(with IMG Manager 1.5 5:31min)

But my main problem is:

1. You have to delete the old files first before adding new ones. The IMG Manager does not overwrite them automatically.

2. There is written that the tool has a Drag and Drop function but it does not work. I do drag the files I want to add in the window but nothing happens...
Does this feature work for you?

I add cars/mods with alcis tool and save there.

BUT rebuild it with IMG Manager Augenzwinkern

Importing Button will just add more files, not replacing
